  • Usage data such as listing views, searches, and interactions on the platform.

  • To send OTP verification codes for account security.

  • To send service-related communications (listing expiry, platform updates).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With other users: Your listing contact number is visible to users who view your listing (subject to your hide-phone settings).
  • Service providers: Third-party services we use to operate the platform (e.g., SMS gateway, cloud storage, payment processors) under strict data processing agreements.
  • Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority in Bangladesh.

5. Agent Safety Warning

⚠️ Important Notice: TheToLetBD is a listing platform only. We strongly advise users NOT to send any money to any agent or landlord before personally verifying the property and signing a proper rental agreement. TheToLetBD will not take any responsibility for any financial loss, fraud, or disputes arising from transactions made directly with agents or landlords outside of our platform.

If you experience any issue with an agent listed on our platform, please report it immediately to us at thetoletbd@gmail.com or contact our support number. We will investigate and take appropriate action.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
  • Hashed passwords — we never store plain-text passwords.
  • OTP-based authentication for sensitive account actions.
  • Secure cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) for uploaded images.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained as long as your account remains active.
  • Listing data may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion for audit purposes.
  • OTP records are automatically deleted after expiry.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

8. Cookies

We use browser local storage to maintain your login session. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. Basic analytics may collect anonymised usage data to help us improve the platform.

9. Children's Privacy

TheToLetBD is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
